Treatment Outcomes
Treatment Outcomes
At Harmony Place’s rehab centers in Los Angeles, we are very proud of our outcomes program. Every client is assessed upon admission, as needed during their treatment stay, and upon discharge.

How We Measure Outcomes
The instrument we use is The Behavior and Symptoms Identification Scale (BASIS-24®). The BASIS-24® is an empirically-tested and widely used measurement-based outcomes tool consisting of 24 questions that assess patients across 6 areas of functioning, as well as their overall symptoms.
Harmony Place Outcomes Study Results
The results from the initial assessment inform our treatment planning and guide our clinicians in addressing the issues most relevant to our clients. Results from the discharge assessment give us insight into the success of our program.
The BASIS-24® also allows us to assess the severity of a patient’s illness upon admission and discharge. These severity scores are divided into 3 levels, Low, Medium, and High. Low is closer to the normative (i.e. non-clinical population), Medium is closer to the residential/partial/ out patient population, and High is closer to the inpatient population. Over the last year, on average, our clients Overall BASIS-24® scores went from High Severity upon intake to Low Severity upon discharge.
BASIS-24® Overall Score
So far, our data have been overwhelmingly positive, indicating that our clients show significant improvement across all 6 areas of functioning between admission and discharge with an average improvement of 70.43% after treatment at Harmony Place.

Psychosis is a condition that affects the way your brain processes information. It causes you to lose touch with reality. You might see, hear, or believe things that aren’t real. Psychosis is a symptom, not an illness. A mental or physical illness, substance abuse, or extreme stress or trauma can cause it. Harmony Place clients who completed our program realized an 85% decrease in Psychosis on average.

Aftercare & Alumni
Recovery doesn’t end after you leave treatment. Therefore, we offer complete aftercare services to help our graduates avoid relapse. This includes alumni-specific activities at our residential facility, where they can meet and mentor our current residents. Graduates of our residential and outpatient programs are invited to remain a part of the Harmony Place family by participating in our Alumni Program. We have support services such as weekly alumni meetings, an online support group, social events, and the opportunity to grow as a leader by becoming a Harmony Place Mentor.

Trac-9
At Harmony Place, we utilize Trac9 Informatics as an assessment tool, closely monitoring factors scientifically linked to long-term sobriety. Every client assessment is psychometrically validated, and assessment outcomes shape individual treatment planning. Trac9 allows our clinical team to accurately measure the effectiveness of treatment, ultimately providing our clients with the services and therapists that are best suited to meet their unique needs.
Trac9 plays an important role in aftercare planning. If post-treatment assessments indicate a return to chemical substances, Harmony Place is notified and a plan for treatment readmission is developed. The data we collect through Trac9 Informatics helps us improve client outcomes.
Harmony Place clients participate in data-gathering while in our care and for 1 full year following treatment. While in our care, the data we collect is used to adjust individual treatment plans, ensuring each client consistently receives the most effective, personalized care possible. The data we collect post-treatment helps us compare outcomes and advance our treatment program to better serve future clients.
Absolutely the best recovery center around.
I am forever grateful to have had this experience. I would recommend anyone who wanted help to come here. This place literally saved my life. I have overcome so many obstacles that always stood in the way of my recovery. It’s not just because I was ready… the approaches the therapists use come from an empathetic, compassionate, and understanding place. They were able to hold the mirror up and help guide me through making solid changes.

August 2017This place literally saved my life.
After overdosing, my parents forced me to check into rehab. After interviewing many other facilities, I decided to go to Harmony Place from my home in Phoenix. I was struggling with…a drug addiction and had been trying for years to recover. In the past, left 2 treatment centers AMA and 1 AWOL. I had very negative experiences in the other treatment facilities, especially with my therapists, so I didn’t go in with an open mind or good attitude- even though they worked with my parents regarding finances. However, the staff was patient with me. The techs were kind, knowledgeable, and many were in recovery themselves.

When I called Harmony Place…I knew immediately that this was the right place for my child… Harmony Place is specifically designed for…and tailored to providing a safe environment. The staff [are knowledgeable and some are in recovery]. The staff knew each client and were on top of each client’s progress. Harmony Place has a small clientele and each client are able to receive all the help they were entitled to. I would recommend Harmony Place to anyone who is looking for a small setting… My daughter is currently going into sober living and her counselors did a wonderful job in finding a right fit for her – affordable, safe and a good environment for her.

Loved-OneI’ve Been Searching for the Perfect Words…
I left Harmony Place in August of 2015 and I have been searching for the perfect words to describe my experience during my stay; and still I can’t really find them. How do you really describe a place with a staff and a program that saved you? Addiction is a terrible thing to go through and a heart breaking thing for your loved ones to watch. Many people, including myself go into different treatment centers throughout their addiction searching for ways to find recovery. Nothing worked for me, not the 5 rehab stays I had, then, I came here.
